Tornadoes

My fictional diary entry

Dear Diary,

I'll never forget that night when the Kansas City tornado destroyed my house. It was 5:23 p.m. and we were just about to eat dinner. All of a sudden I heard the sirens go off. No one was really scared, but we all went to the basement thinking it would be over in a few minutes. As soon as we got to the basement it sounded like a bullet train was speeding down my street. We all ran to take cover under the stairs. Then all of a sudden it felt as if I was stuck in the middle of an earthquake. Two minutes later we came out from under the steps, we looked up and there was nothing. Our whole house was gone! Every one was silent, no one knew what to say. That night was the most memorable night of my life. It changed my life forever.
